1
Leadership Is a Daily Choice
Think about the last 48 hours at work:
1. What is one specific moment when you could have stepped forward to lead—but didn’t?
2. What stopped you?
3. What would “choosing to lead” have looked like in that moment?
Insight:
The moments when you hesitate to lead often reveal your greatest opportunities for growth as a leader.
2
Leadership shows up through behavior, not title.
List two visible actions you took recently that signaled leadership to your team.
Examples might include:
1. Setting direction
2. Making a decision others were avoiding
3. Supporting someone who needed guidance
4. Addressing a problem directly
Ask yourself:
- Did people clearly see me leading?
Leadership takeaway:
Leadership opportunities appear every day—often in small moments. The leaders who earn trust are the ones who consistently step forward when those moments appear.
3
Leadership requires daily commitment.
1. Identify one leadership behavior you will intentionally demonstrate tomorrow.
2. Complete this sentence:
“Tomorrow I will choose to lead by __________________________.”
3. Make it something observable that your team will notice.
Leadership insight:
Leadership isn’t proven when it’s convenient—it’s proven in the moments when you choose to step forward instead of stepping back.
